Sylviane Canini, born in 1954 in Paris, is a French artist known for her exquisite engravings that capture the essence of the human body, translating the emotions of movement and celebrating fragility. Graduating from the Institute of Fine Arts N. Grigoresco's graphic section in Bucharest, Romania, in 1977, she embarked on a creative journey deeply rooted in classicism, marked by erudition and elegance.

Canini's drawings evoke a sense of prayer, suspended and unfinished, embodying desires yet to unfold. Her figures, born under the observer's gaze, convey a timeless quality reminiscent of discovering a softly illuminated fresco.
