About the Artist - Robert J. Steinberg
Robert J. Steinberg (born 1948) is an American photographer renowned for his captivating and often provocative imagery. His principal medium since fourth grade, photography has been central to his artistic expression. In 2015, he expanded his creative pursuits to sculpting, and by 2016, he incorporated 3D printing into his process, using it for both maquettes for lost wax bronzes and direct resin-based prints. Steinberg has taught courses in alternative process printing and the use of supercomputers in original art production at esteemed institutions such as The Maine Photographic Workshop, The Santa Fe Workshop, The Woodstock Workshop, and The Center for Creative Imaging. His work is held in numerous public and private collections, though a 2012 fire resulted in the loss of many records, prints, and original negatives.
