About the Artist - Michele Salmon

Michele Salmon, a French painter born in Lorraine in 1946, is renowned for her contributions to the world of art. A student of Georges Rohner and Jacques Despierre at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs, she was elected a correspondent of the Academy of Fine Arts (painting section) in 2009.

Salmon's artistic style is characterized by a focus on sensations and atmospheres, akin to surrealism. Her paintings depict mysterious beings emerging through shadows and light, often portrayed without hair and expression. She made her debut at the Salon d'Automne in 1969.

Throughout her career, Salmon received numerous accolades, including the Gold Medal for French Artists and the Aymard Achille Fould Prize in 1974. Notable exhibitions include showcases at prestigious venues such as the Pushkin Museum in Moscow, the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, and the Galerie de Paris in 1975 and the New York Expo in 1986. Salmon has held exhibitions globally, from Tokyo to Cannes, leaving a lasting impact on the art world.
