Condition: Good condition natural ageing to paper color. Multiple edge tearsand scuffs from natural age, however this can be covered when framing. One light crease on bottom right but it's not visible when laid flat in frame.

About the Artist - Volkmar Haase

Volkmar Haase (1930-2012) was a Berlin-based sculptor known for his significant contributions to public art. He began his artistic journey by studying painting at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin under the mentorship of Max Kaus in 1951. Haase later transitioned to become a freelance sculptor based in Berlin-Kladow from 1958 onwards. His signature medium was stainless steel, and he created approximately 40 large sculptures displayed in public spaces and parks across Berlin, as well as in various cities throughout Germany and Europe. His works are also part of esteemed museum collections, including the Wilhelm-Lehmbruck Museum in Duisburg and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Haase's artistic focus revolved around capturing the essence of water's movement, particularly the dynamics of waves. In his later years, he resided and continued his artistic endeavors on his estate in Brüssow, a town in the Uckermark near Berlin, starting in 2003.
