Surviving World War I, where he was gassed and participated in the Battle of Verdun, Malfray was deeply impacted by his experiences. In collaboration with his brother, he created controversial war memorials in Pithiviers (1920) and Orléans (1924). Despite winning the Prix Blumenthal in 1920, war-related illness almost led him to abandon sculpture. In 1931, he became the successor to Aristide Maillol as a professor at the Académie Ranson in Paris, influencing several notable students. Malfray's works include \"La Danse\" and \"Torse de nageuse\". He sadly passed away in 1940.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"FORM Vintage","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":47543095918770,"sku":null,"price":149.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0776\/0956\/6386\/files\/404883_17714e2d9b8a4f45b854054fab0150f8_mv2.jpg?v=1780347864","url":"https:\/\/formvintageshop.com\/products\/1977-charles-malfray-french-art-exhibition-lithograph","provider":"FORM Vintage","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
