Masaaki Noda, born in Fukuyama, Hiroshima, Japan in 1949, is a versatile artist renowned for his intricate serigraphs with up to 100 colors. After studying at Osaka University of Arts, he moved to New York City in 1977, where he continued his artistic journey at the Art Students League. Noda's work spans various mediums, including printmaking, drawing, painting, collage, and sculpture. His early years in New York were marked by the creation of refined, polychromatic silkscreen prints, a hallmark of his work into the late 1980s.
Noda's art is a celebration of fluidity in movement, drawing on subtle archetypical symbolism to create a unique blend of visual delicacy, formal aesthetics, and mystical elements. He gained recognition for his complex and vibrant serigraphs, leaving an indelible mark on the art world.
